Eat Well, Stay Well!

Dr. Mitzvah looked out the window from his study on Jericho Lane in Cedarville. It was a lovely day with lazy clouds drifting across the blue sky. “Perfect morning for doing a little research,” said Dr. Mitzvah to himself as he leaned back in his swivel chair and opened a big, black medical book. Just then the doorbell rang. Mr. Klinger and his son Yoni were standing there. Yoni was holding his stomach and looking very pale.

“It’s my stomach,” said Yoni. “It hurts something awful. Since yesterday.”

Yoni was a rather plump boy who liked to eat, and this morning, his stomach did seem even rounder than usual. “Hmm … what did you eat yesterday?” asked Dr. Mitzvah.

“Nothing much,” sniffed Yoni. “Just a few slices of pizza.”

“How many make a few?”

“Oh … maybe five or six.”

“Well now, no wonder! Five or six slices of pizza is enough to give anyone a stomachache!” said Dr. Mitzvah.

“But I had four glasses of soda to wash it down!” answered Yoni.

“And three helpings of ice cream afterward,” added Mr. Klinger. “Yoni was at a friend’s birthday party and it seems he finished all the leftover pizzas. He ate them top speed too!”
