“Excellent,” I said. “Everything is going exactly as planned.”

Chaim eyed me warily.

“What?” I asked.

“Liba and ‘everything going exactly as planned’ aren’t really synonymous.”

“Very funny. Did you ever stop to consider, brother dear, that I’m a responsible young adult?”

Chaim laughed. “Who plays with a cow?”

“You can say what you want, but this fundraiser is going to be amazing, and it’s going to bring in tons of money for a great cause.”

Chaim looked skeptical. “The petting zoo’s in one week, Liba. With your track record, who knows what can happen by then?”
