This means the vegetable was grown using a special method called hydroponics.

What is hydroponics?

This is the growing of plants without any soil — water, sand, or gravel are used instead. This technique revolutionized the whole planting industry in places where there isn’t much soil. For example, huge expanses of sandy desert inEretzYisraelhave been transformed into massive vegetable farms.
