Rabbi Frankel looked up from his book. “Is everything okay, Pinny?” Pinny shrugged. “I guess.” Rabbi Frankel looked thoughtful. “Pinny, I’d like to speak to you out in the hall for a moment.” Pinny heaved a sigh and stood up to follow his rebbe.

“I see,” Rabbi Frankel said after he coaxed Pinny into unburdening himself. “I understand why this bothers you. I remember something very similar happening to me when I was in the seventh grade. In fact, it’s all coming back to me.”
Rabbi Frankel smiled as he was transferred back to his own cheder days at Darchei Emes. He was once again a twelve-year-old boy in the seventh grade walking these very halls.
